A Sublime Omakase Experience at Sushi Sho As someone who truly loves omakase, Sushi Sho earns a wholehearted five stars from me. The experience was nothing short of exceptional. The omotenashi—Japanese hospitality—was deeply thoughtful, blending the elegance of Japanese tradition with a subtle infusion of local culinary elements. What impressed me most was how this fusion never disrupted the refined Japanese sensibility; instead, it elevated it. Each dish felt like a quiet conversation between cultures, handled with grace and precision. The chef’s mastery and the staff’s attentiveness made the evening unforgettable. Sushi Sho is a rare gem that honors its roots while embracing its surroundings. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a truly sophisticated and soulful omakase experience.

Absolutely floored by this spot. Don’t get sticker shock because of the price. While it is steep, it is 100% worth every penny. This has got to be in my top 3 sushi experiences I’ve ever been to. I’ve traveled to Japan and beyond, and this place was incredible. Incredible quality. Fantastic service. If you love sushi, You cannot miss this!

Dining at Sushi Sho was a memorable experience, especially getting to watch Chefs work with such precision and artistry right in front of us. The craftsmanship and dedication to every piece of sushi were clear, and the quality of the fish was outstanding. I opted for the sake pairing, which-while generous-felt a bit overwhelming for one small person. A lighter or more curated pairing might be more enjoyable. I also would have appreciated a bit more explanation about each dish, especially given the complexity and uniqueness of the menu. The chef clearly put a lot of intention into each bite, but the communication didn't quite match that level of care. Lastly, while the chef was highly engaged, the supporting staff seemed a bit distracted with other parties, which made the overall service feel slightly uneven. Still, it was a special evening and worth experiencing if you're interested in high-level omakase in Honolulu.

Truly amazing and extraordinary, every course is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. The sparking sake in particular was unexpectedly outstanding. Only problem is it’s so hard to book, but still, I look forward to returning soon.

I’ve had a lot of fancy meals in a lot of fancy places and this was one of the more magical experiences. Would recommend without reservation or concern. In reading other reviews I don’t think the add on feedback is fair—it’s pretty common for omakase spots on the west coast and the pricing was reasonable per slice. I can’t speak to the decline in food quality since my first time was Oct 25 but everything I had was wonderful with a clear POV

Always a classic and still one of the best traditional Omakase experiences you can get anywhere. Only 8 seats, but we got them to squeeze one more on the end. Mahalos for another great night Sushi Sho!

Sushi Sho is one of North America's finest sushi restaurants. The price is commensurate with the quality. A definite do not miss for a special occasion meal or just a well deserved treat.

Edomae-style sushi omakase with great sake-pairing options. Top-notch varieties of fish and delicate prep for all of them. Very high-end, expecting at least $600+ per person for the pairing experience and extra dishes to feel full at the end.
